What pension or Social Security amount do US citizens get when they retire at 65 if they didn’t work?

They wouldn’t get anything. A minimum Social Security retirement payment requires 40 work credits.

They would only get that if they worked about 10 years.

The only exception is if you were married and qualified for the spousal benefit.
