Need a dental plan, too? With Independent Health Agents, you generally can get dental coverage as part of a health plan or by itself through a separate, stand-alone dental plan during open enrollment or during the special enrollment period (if you qualify).
If you purchased an individual health plan during open enrollment and you do not qualify for a special enrollment period, some dental carriers will allow you to add a dental plan but may be subject to waiting periods of 6 months for basic and 12 months for major services.

This PrimeStar plan gives you the freedom to use any dentist with the advantage of utilizing a Ameritas Dental Network provider for additional savings. The Ameritas Dental Network features:
• Discounted fees, typically 30% below average charges in your community
• Immediate network discounts
• One of the largest nationwide networks with over 400,000 access points and 100,000 unique providers
This plan is designed for those who value the freedom to visit any dentist, but will enjoy additional savings with an Ameritas dental network provider. While all PrimeStar plans allow you to choose any dentist, this plan offers you richer benefits out-of-network than our Network plan. If you use a non-network dentist, covered benefits are paid at the 80th percentile of usual and customary charges. You pay the difference between what the plan pays and the dentist’s actual charge. If you use an in-network provider, your out-of-pocket costs will be based on the contracted fees (MAC/maximum allowable charge), which may result in lower out-of-pocket costs.
